2018 Ford Escape Specs & Features

For quite some time now, the Ford Escape has been one of the leading vehicles in the Ford lineup—and for good reason. The compact SUV manages to strike a balance that is extremely appealing to car buyers who are looking for a bit more space, but who also want a vehicle that can achieve high fuel economy ratings. To help you decide whether or not the Escape is the right fit for you, we thought it would be best to take a look at some of the specs and features of the SUV and to let you know all that it is capable of. 2016 ford escape exterior front blueWe’ll start with the inside, which includes seats for five, as well as a great deal of space for cargo. The seats of the Escape can be folded down in a variety of ways to make room for a mix of both passengers and cargo. At its largest, the Escape manages to hold as much as 68 cubic feet of whatever you need to take a long for the ride. Whether it be backpacks, art projects, sports equipment, or even dorm room furniture, the Escape has the space you need. Not surprisingly, the benefits of the inside don’t end there. Up front in certain trim levels of the Escape is the latest Ford SYNC 3 infotainment system, which allows you to stay connected with the world while you’re behind the wheel. You can access your phone to make calls and to listen to and respond to text messages. You can also listen to all of your favorite music. The best part about it all is that the system allows you to do all of this safely. It responds to the sound of your voice, but also can be operated through the large eight-inch touchscreen. It’s technology at its absolute finest. Under the hood of the Escape, you will find three engines to choose from. They are all fairly similar in terms of size and capability, but each does offer something unique, allowing you to choose what matters most to you. There is a 2.5-liter, which serves as kind of the middle-of-the-road engine, but also a 1.5-liter EcoBoost, which helps to make the Escape the most fuel efficient it has ever been. When loaded in the nose, it helps the compact SUV to get up to 30 mpg on the highway. If you are looking to put a bit of pep in the step of your Escape, then the available 2.0-liter, turbocharged EcoBoost engine is the one for you.
